Houston CCS Alliance Recognized with Community Service Award from Commissioner Adrian Garcia

For Houston CCS Alliance member companies, seeing our communities grow and thrive in the Houston region is a rewarding experience. This was made even more special on January 26, 2024 when Harris County Commissioner Adrian Garcia recognized our Texas Arbor Day tree planting and park improvement project for its contribution to Pasadena and Harris County.

Last fall, Harris County Precinct 2 and the Houston CCS Alliance collaborated to bring together more than 50 volunteers from our member companies to plant 400 trees at Partnership Park in Pasadena. The event was one of our most impactful of the year, garnering local media coverage from Univision and La Prensa, and earning a proclamation from Commissioner Garcia recognizing our commitment to improving local communities through continuous outreach, community service and energy innovation.

Advancing carbon capture and storage on the Gulf Coast is a unique opportunity to reduce emissions, improve air quality and continue providing high-quality jobs in innovative energy and manufacturing industries. In his remarks at an appreciation event attended by about 150 community leaders, Commissioner Garcia thanked the member company volunteers who made the event possible and emphasized how meaningful the park improvement was in restoring the community and lifting the neighborhood, which had been devastated by a tornado earlier in the year.

The Houston CCS Alliance is honored to have been recognized and we look forward to continuing to collaborate with Commissioner Garcia and Precinct 2 to keep Harris County a vibrant place to live and work.
